Some of us will be getting together on Saturday to watch Game 4 of the World Series between the Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers, and you’re very welcome to join us. We’ve done this a couple of times before, with results best described as “mixed”. Last year, we got to watch the insanity which was Game 5 - the contest the Astros won 12-11 in ten innings. That was nice. In 2013, we watched the Red Sox beat the Cardinals 4-2, on their way to taking the series. This was okay. But in 2012, we watched as the Giants completed a sweep of the Tigers. Could have done without it, to be honest. We’ll see what this year brings! [But note: all three times whoever wins the SnakePit game, won the World Series...]
-
Where: The George and Dragon
4240 N Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85012. That’s the same place as last year. It offers a nice combination of central location, decent parking, good beer selection and food as well. - When: Saturday, October 27. First pitch is 5:09 pm, so we’ll probably aim to arrive around 5pm. Wasn’t too busy last year, but that was a Sunday. If you can let us know in the comments if you’re coming, we’ll have an idea of numbers and can occupy space accordingly, though RSVPs are not required.
- Who: Whomever, really. Likely attendees at this point include myself (Mrs. SnakePit will be present once she gets done at work), Keegan and Jack, so come and hang out. Though if you’re cheering for the Dodgers, just bear in mind, this is an English pub with a fondness for soccer and its traditions... [am I doing this “veiled threat” thing right?]
Here’s to celebrating a Red Sox sweep!
