Reno Aces 2, El Paso Chihuahuas 7: Down 1-0 in the series, the Aces turned to Taylor Clarke to even up the series. Clarke got roughed up for 4 runs (3 earned) in 4 innings, allowing 9 hits, and striking out 5. The Aces offense couldn’t solve Bryan Rodriguez, the only extra base hit being a 4th inning homer by Christian Walker.
Kane County Cougars 3, Cedar Rapids Kernels 7: The Cougars grabbed a 2-0 lead in the 2nd thanks to Adam Walton, but the wheels fell off for Sam McWilliams in the 4th. After cruising for 3 innings, the wall just hit him in the 4th inning, failing to retire 7 hitters and allowing 6 runs in the frame.
Hillsboro Hops 4, Eugene Emeralds 10: Tyler Badamo allowed 3 runs in 6 innings, allowing 6 hits and striking out 7. After falling behind 3-0 in the 2nd, Pavin Smith tied the game with a 3-run homer, his first since June. After a strong round of pitching through the 6th, the Hops fell behind 4-3. Taking advantage of a leadoff double by Luis Lara, Drew Ellis got the gimmie RBI home from 3rd to tie the game at 4. Unfortunately the tie game lasted all of a few moments as Breckin Williams and Juan Torres allowed 6 runs to score to lose 10-4.
Missoula Osprey 8, Great Falls Voyagers 10: The Osprey dug themselves in a deep hole, trailing 6-0 after 4, and 9-1 after 5 1⁄2 innings. The offense did their best to climb out, with Andy Yerzy smashing out a pair of homers and driving in 3. The comeback attempt stalled in the 8th with the Osprey falling 2 runs short.
