Arizona Diamondbacks 5, Colorado Rockies 1

10/10, very satisfied, would sweep again.

Even with a B-lineup, the Diamondbacks completed the sweep over the Rockies at Coors Field, to win their tenth consecutive game - the longest undefeated streak by the D-backs since 2003. Zack Godley didn’t have his best control, walking six in six innings, but held Colorado to three hits and struck out seven, allowing only one run. Arizona saw their consecutive lead streak end after failing to score in the first, but took the lead in the third, on David Peralta’s RBI single.

Colorado tied things up in the fifth, but were unable to capitalize on a subsequent two on, nobody out situation. The Diamondbacks immediately hit back, with a solo home-run by Ketel Marte and two-run blast by Brandon Drury, with Chris Iannetta bringing the seventh consecutive serving of free tacos, with another home-run in the eighth. The Rockies threatened, putting the first two on in the bottom half, but Jimmie Sherfy came on and struck out the side to quell the threat. He retired the side 1-2-3 in the ninth, and are now 6.5 games ahead.

Having dodged the permanent ban a loss would have brought him, AzDbackfanInDc will be along with the guest recap shortly...
