Snake Bytes 7/8: Greinke Claims the Throne

On Game of Thrones Night, the Diamondbacks Zack Greinke entered with his usual swagger and brought an emphatic end to the recent losing nonsense.

Zack Greinke once again played the role of stopper and did so in emphatic fashion. The Arizona ace threw seven innings of shutout baseball, recording seven strikeouts and not walking a batter. The win moved Greinke to 9-0 at home on the season, surpassing Patrick Corbin’s team record of eight consecutive wins at home to start the season.

Diamondbacks Sweep by Los Angeles Doesn’t Tell Much

All the games were close ones and on the road for Arizona. Furthermore, the pitching matchups were about as unfavorable as they could have been, not the sort to expect should these teams face off in October.
