Time didn’t quite permit me to come up with a preview for this game. I was all set, and then my attention was required elsewhere. So you’ll have this and like it. At least the D-backs won’t have to face Adam Wainwright, who hit the DL. Instead, for the second game in a row (after Aaron Blair yesterday), they get to face a starting pitcher making his first appearance of the season in that role. Hopefully, the results will prove just as satisfactory as they were on Wednesday.
It’s the start of what will be a challenging road-trip, beginning with four in St. Louis. In four-game series like this, the first game is particular crucial. I think the D-backs would be very happy with a split of these contests, and winning this afternoon (with what appears to be a pitching advantage) would be particular helpful towards that, and also get the road-trip kicked off on the right foot.
