Triple-A Reno 12 @ Colorado Springs 5. The Aces blasted an eight-spot in the top of the first inning, effectively ending this game. However, they then didn’t score again until plating four in the ninth. SS Jack Reinheimer had two singles and two doubles, driving in four, while RF Socrates Brito scored three times, with two hits and a walk. Matt Koch lasted only four innings, allowing three runs on nine hits, but the bullpen held the Sky Sox to one run the rest of the way, led by Aaron Laffey's pair of hitless innings.
Double-A Jackson - off.
High-A Visalia 5, Stockton 1. Though Nick Baker held the Ports to one run over five innings, he got a no-decision as it took a four-run eighth for Visalia to prevail. Baker gave up four hits and walked none, striking out two. The bullpen held Stockton scoreless thereafter, Keegan Long getting the W for two hitless relief frames. Four different hitters had an RBI in the eighth for the Rawhide. RF Fernery Ozuna had two hits abd a walk, and Visalia were 4-for-6 with runners in scoring position.
A-ball Kane County 1 @ Fort Wayne 2. Sam Lewis got a tough loss, working six innings and being charged with two runs on five hits with no walks and three K’s. The Cougars’ offense were largely stifled, having only three at-bats with a runner in scoring position, coming up empty. Colin Poche struck out five over two scoreless innings out of the pen, and has a 44:6 K:BB ratio over 24.2 IP for KC.
A-short Hillsboro 1, Spokane 13. Ouch. This recap intentionally left blank.
Rookie Missoula 7, Idaho Falls 14. The Osprey were six down by the middle of the first, and 9-0 down in the third, but made something of a game of it thereafter. Starter Brady Muller didn’t make it out of the first inning, and each of the three other relievers used were charged with multiple earned runs.
