Arizona Diamondbacks 12, Cincinnati Reds 2

That was easy.

A pair of three-run bombs off the bat of Jake Lamb bookended a very solid win, despite the team resting a number of key players. Patrick Corbin also pitched very well, in a start moved up a day, due to the departure of Taijuan Walker on paternity leave. Corbin worked into the eighth inning and allowed one run on seven hits and a walk with six strikeouts. The key was likely the fourth, where he loaded the bases with no outs, but escaped further damage on a pair of pop-ups and a strikeout.

The offense got under way early, Lamb’s first homer giving them a 3-0 lead before an out was recorded. There were further multi-run blasts by Gregor Blanco and Ketel Marte, before Lamb capped a six-run ninth inning with his 22nd home-run of the year. Chris Iannetta had a pair of hits, and Blanco tripled and walked, in addition to his home-run.
