Arizona Diamondbacks 6, Colorado Rockies 2

That was much better.

MLB: Colorado Rockies at Arizona Diamondbacks Rick Scuteri-USA TODAY Sports

Zack Greinke won his tenth game, and the Diamondbacks had three triples, to even up the series with a win in front of a sold-out Chase Field tonight. Most of whom didn’t even get a free T-shirt, it should be noted. Arizona jumped out to an early lead, Daniel Descalso’s lead-off triple coming home on a groundout, then in the fourth Chris Owings doubled home Paul Goldschmidt, then came home himself on a wild pitch, to put Arizona 3-0 up.

Meanwhile, Zack Greinke was pitching a great game. He had a shutout going until there were two outs in the seventh, when Trevor Story golfed a pitch just far enough and just fair enough down the left-field line, pulling the Rockies back within one. But the D-backs took advantage of two errors to put up a three-spot in their half. Fernando Rodney came in with one out in the ninth and the tying run on-deck, but made sure it stayed there, to notch his 21st save.

Jay Ego will be along with the full recap later.
