Preview #94: Arizona Diamondbacks @ Cincinnati Reds

After Ray acted as stopper, the offense woke up, and the team traded for a big bat, Game 2 of the series against the Reds just got a lot more exciting to watch.

Today's Lineups

Today’s game should be packed with some extra excitement. The Diamondbacks ended a season-long losing streak with Robbie Ray on the mound yesterday. Now they’ll turn to the team’s ace, Zack Greinke to get the momentum going in the right direction again. To help Greinke along, the Diamondbacks will be running out their shiny new hitter, J.D. Martinez to lengthen the lineup. GIven the hitter-friendly nature of Great American Ballpark, and the way the bats came alive yesterday afternoon, this is potentially one of those games that will get circled on the season’s calendar as one of the more fun ones to watch.

The team certainly performed better with runners in scoring position yesterday. Look for that to continue today, as Martinez joins the heart of the order. It would be nice for Greinke to cruise through the game while the offense puts a whomping on Cincinnati’s pitching, tiring out the bullpen before tomorrow’s finale when Taijuan Walker will face off against Luis Castillo.
