No Snake Stars, not enough games
Hillsboro Hops 3, Salem-Keizer Volancoes 5: The Diamondbacks had Mike Hazen and two of the top three picks in attendance for the game. Pavin Smith and Daulton Varsho may end up suiting up for the Hops later this month, but were spectators for today. Jhoan Duran took the start and did alright with 3 runs in 5 innings with 4 strikeouts vs. 1 walk. Junior Garcia followed him up with 4 innings of 1-hit ball, striking out 3, but the Hops were trailing 3-2 going into the bottom of the 9th. The Hops were able to tie things in the 9th, but were unable to take advantage of a bases-loaded situation to end the game in regulation. Ultimately the Hops fell in 13 innings. Inside the ‘Zona’s Jeff Wiser, an Oregon resident, has some very informative tweets for the players playing for the Hops.
GM Mike Hazen, 1st round pick Pavin Smith, 3rd round pick Daulton Varsho and others are in the house tonight.

#Dbacks RHP prospect Jhoan Duran has allowed just one hit through three for @HillsboroHops. FB 92-96 with run and he's locating it.

LHP Junior Garcia threw 32 pitches in 4 scoreless relief innings. 88-91, some deception, hides ball well, getting whiffs from LHBs and RHBs.

Missoula Osprey 2, Billings Mustangs 8: It was an ugly game for the Osprey, with the offense, defense, and pitching simultaneously giving bad games. Andy Yerzy had the only RBI for the Osprey, making it the 3rd straight game he’s driven in a run. The defense committed 4 errors while the pitching allowed 9 hits and 3 walks. Overall, just a game to forget.
