I recycled an old prompt idea from last year for this past week’s prompt. I asked you to find the next expansion city to give a baseball team to. Last year, TylerO was the clear winner when he suggested that they should put one in Chase Field, since there hadn’t been one there competitively in at least five years. This year, preston.salisbury won with...
San Diego
They’ve so many major sports teams over the years, it would be nice for them to have an MLB team.

Oh how a year, and an extra ten or fifteen wins, changes things. Anyway, in second place, we find DbacKid with a suggestion I really would like to see simulated somehow.
Mars
Let’s be honest: we all want to know how far Goldie would hit the ball with less gravity. Also, how high could Mike Trout jump? Homerun derby’s would be a blast. How would the pitching play? Would fastballs get even faster? Would curveballs even exist? Could we start measuring the fence lines in yards instead of feet? There are so many questions that need to be answered, and the Mars Expansion is the only way. (Well, I guess you could simulate it, but that wouldn’t be any fun.)

And in third place, we have AzRattler with a copyright infringement lawsuit waiting to happen :-)
Gotham, Wisconsin or Metropolis, Illinois
Wouldn’t team names such as the Gotham City Knights or Metropolis Martians with certain superhero themes mixed in not be a cool way to expand baseball?

Let’s see how this effects the standings, shall we?
Well then... Diamondhacks went into this week with a slight lead. However, the big gains from our winners this week pushes him into a rather distant fourth place, after preston’s massive win propells him out in front from way back fourth place himself. Only a few more weeks left in this half, which I’ll be ending at the All Star Break, but keep this week in mind if you start to get discouraged by the distance between you and the front. Going into this week, preston was five points behind first place. Now, he finds himself out in front by four.
Lots of opportunity in this week’s prompt, I think. If you’re on this site, I feel safe in assuming you have heard of Aaron Judge, Man Who Hits Baseballs Really Far For An Impoverished East Coast Team. In their excitement in having their first superstar in decades, the fans of the Yankees have created something of a fan club of his that they call The Judge’s Chambers. Piggybacking off that, a writer on ESPN tried to come up with a similar section for every team. The one they came up with for the Diamondbacks was kind of lame, imo. So here is what I want from you. I want you to take a player currently on the Diamondbacks* and come up with a good cheering section. Go!
