Diamondbacks 2 and Rockies 5

The Arizona Diamondbacks lost the rubber match of their their three-game series with Colorado Rockies 5-2. The Diamondbacks' bats were silenced by Rockies starting pitcher Tyler Chatwood who went 7 innings and allowed one earned run, on two hits.

Arizona offensive ineptitude was evident as they were held to 3 hits and two runs. The Diamondbacks have scored two runs in their last 15-innings.

The Colorado Rockies' offense was paced by Mark Reynolds, 2-3 with a homerun, and Pat Valaika who hit his first homerun of the season.

Taijuan Walker was solid, going 5.2 innings and allowing two earned runs on seven hits.

Arizona has lost two straight games and four of their last five games overall.

The Diamondbacks finished their six game road trip 2-4 and have lost four six-games to the Rockies this season. Arizona is in second place in the National League West, 2.5 games behind Colorado.
