Triple-A Reno 9, Salt Lake 6 - The Aces got it done early, a five-run second inning giving them a lead which never became less than three thereafter. SS Ketel Marte finished a home-run short of the cycle, driving in five runs. 1B Carlos Rivero got two hits, and RF Oswaldo Arcia hit his sixth home-run of the year. Keyvius Sampson improved to 3-1, with five innings of four-run ball, although three of those were unearned. He allowed four hits, but walked five, and also fanned five. Silvino Bracho put the tying run on base in the ninth, before picking up his third save.
Double-A Jackson @ Mobile - postponed
High-A Visalia 7, Stockton 4 - Two-run homers from RF Jason Morozowski (#1) and C Matt Jones (#3) helped the Rawhide to victory. Both men also had singles, while there were two-hit games for 3B Marty Herum and SS Gallii Cribbs. Ryan Atkinson picked up his first win of the season, scattering six hits and four walks over five innings, with four strikeouts. He was charged with two earned runs. In his second rehab outing, Jake Barrett struck out the side in the eighth, but did allow two hits and two runs, though both were unearned. Bud Jeter got his eight save with a perfect ninth.
A-ball Kane County 2 @ South Bend 6 - The Cougars were held to just four hits and a walk, with two of those off the bat of SS Jasrado Chisholm, who also took the sole walk. LF Luis Silverio hit his first home-run of the season. Sam McWilliams got his first loss of the year, allowing four runs in four innings, on five hits. However, he walked none, struck out six, and still has an ERA of 1.88 for the year. Kane County weren’t helped by their four errors committed on defense.
