What the hell, Why am I a Diamondbacks fan?

Why am I a Diamondbacks fan? I was born in Maryland in the late 60's. I really never got into baseball as far as watching it on tv or in person. My dad did take me to a few games in the early 70's at Memorial Stadium. I was too young to really understand the game to be honest but I'm sure for him, taking his son to a sporting event was quality time spent together. Fast forward to my teenage years. I was kinda forced to do sports. Basketball, Soccer, Baseball. I hated soccer and I wasn't good at basketball. Baseball was meh ok but I just wanted to do what I wanted to do and it wasn't play sports. My parents were very strict so I did as they said or I knew the consequences.

Makes new paragraph so it's not all jumbled up and maybe the boss can see my writing skills or not. :)

The year now is 1999 and I am sick of living here. I look at the map to pick a place to fly to. For some weird reason, I picked Phoenix Arizona, not sure why. I figured I'd go somewhere I've never been to check it out. Spent a week there on vacation and absolutely loved it. Flew back to Baltimore, put my two weeks notice in at work, and flew back and got an apartment in Phoenix. Had an 18 wheeler pick up all my stuff out of storage and had it sent to AZ. I met this chick out there and she took me to a Diamondbacks game I want to say in 1999 for a date. That day, just the beautiful ballpark and being somewhere new, I fell in love with the Diamondbacks. It was one of the best days of my life. I was hooked on a team and on a sport I really knew nothing about.

Attended as many games as I could, and when I couldn't, I watched on tv. Moved back to the DC area in 2010. Obviously the games are not on here. I hate gameday, and wound up purchasing the mlb package to watch the games on the computer. It was ok, but it just wasn't like watching on tv or in person. Thankfully, I found Mlb Extra Innings and the quality is superb, just like watching on tv in Arizona so I purchase that every year and watch every game that comes on where it doesn't interfere with work. I'm not sure how I stumbled across the Snakepit but (most of the time) I am glad I did. I have been on this site off and on for I would say 9 years or so now. I love most people here and usually have fun interacting in articles and game day threads. I try to read every article I can to learn about the team. I visit this site several times a day including first thing in the morning before work. This is by far, as I have said a thousand times, the best site on the internet and I really mean that. Thanks to Jim and his staff for all you do. Your work is amazing. Anyways, we have a good start to the year and I am looking forward to rooting this team on day in and day out to see how this season plays out. Thanks for reading this and GO ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS kick some azz boys! ps: WE NEED MORE SIRENSSSSSSSSSS
