Marcus Wilson, 20, hit .362 (25-for-69) with 6 doubles, 5 home runs and 20 RBI in 18 games in April for the Cougars. He led the Midwest League in slugging pct. (.696) and OPS (1.166) and ranked among the league leaders in RBI (2nd), on-base pct. (2nd, .470), average (4th) and home runs (T-5th). Wilson was named MWL Player of the Week from April 10-16 and reached base safely in each of the first 15 games of the season and 17 of 18 games overall. A native of Los Angeles, Calif., he was selected by the D-backs in the second round of the 2014 First-Year Player draft from Junipero Serra High School (Calif.).
Jun Duplantier, 22, went 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA (0 ER in 20.1 IP) with 28 strikeouts against 4 walks in 4 games (3 starts) for the Cougars in April. He ranks among the MWL leaders in ERA (T-1st), opponents average (2nd, .121), WHIP (2nd, 0.59) and ground out/fly out ratio (2nd, .210). Duplantier was selected by the D-backs in the third round of the 2016 First-Year Player draft from Rice University.
