Reno Aces 7, New Orleans Baby Cakes 9: Keyvius Sampson got blasted early with 6 runs scoring in the first 3 innings. The Aces fell behind big and early, although they made an attempt in the 9th inning with 4 runs. However, the comeback bid ended after Ildemaro Vargas’ homer came with 1 out in the 9th. Jeremy Hazelbaker had a double and a triple in the game while also drawing a walk.

Jackson Generals 2, Pensacola Blue Wahoos 5: Alex Young battled for 5 innings, but no support from the bullpen and the lineup and ended up taking the loss. He allowed 2 runs in the game despite dealing with a lot of traffic. The bullpen allowed 3 runs to score in the 7th-8th innings, which caused the deficit to swell to 5-2 after Young left down 2-0. Not much offense from the Generals, although Evan Marzilli had two hits and drew a walk.

Visalia Rawhide 1, Rancho Cucamonga Quakes 3: The Rawhide struggled offensively again and lost a low-scoring game. Ryan Atkinson was a bright spot, striking out 9 in 6 innings, but a terrible job behind the plate by BJ Lopez allowed an unearned run to score against him. Francis Christy drove in the only run of the game in the 2nd inning. The score remained tied at 1 until Cameron Gann allowed a 2-run homer in the 8th. The only batter to reach twice was Sergio Alcantara, who had a single and a walk.
