Double-A Jackson 2, Tennessee 0. Taylor Clarke spun six shutout innings, holding the Smokies to three hits and a walk with seven strikeouts, while also going 2-for-2 at the plate. Clarke dropped his season ERA to 1.85, and over his last five outings, has allowed just three earned runs in 27.1 innings, for a 0.99 ERA and a K:BB ratio of 26:6. Solo homers by LF Kelly Dugan (#2) and 1B Rudy Flores (#4) were all the offense the Generals would need. SS Kevin Medrano also had two hits and the bullpen worked three hitless frames. The win pushed Jackson back on top the Southern League North, overtaking Tennessee once again.

High-A Visalia 1 @ Inland Empire 3. Each side only had four hits, none with anyone in scoring position, but the 66ers got a two-run homer off Justin Donatella in the sixth, to break a 1-1 tie. Donatella allowed three runs on four hits and four walks over five-plus innings, striking out six. The bullpen, including Jake Barrett, tossed three hitless relief innings, but the offense came up short here. CF Matt McPhearson had a pair of hits, DH Matt Jones hit his fourth homer of the year, and SS Sergio Alcantara drew a pair of walks.

A-ball Kane County 3, Great Lakes 8. Cougars manager Butch Hobson was ejected by 1B umpire Andrew Barrett in the 5th inning here, with the game being called due to rain in the bottom of the seventh. CF Marcus Wilson was activated off the DL before the game, and went 1-for-3 with a strikeout. 1B Paxton De La Garza got two hits, and RF Billy Endris drove in a pair. An error by 2B Manny Jefferson led to three unearned runs off starter Mitchell Aker, but that was it over his 3.2 innings. Jake Winston and Austin Mason struggled in relief, allowing a total of five runs on six hits over 3.1 innings.
