Starting in place of Shelby Miller, Zack Godley was dominate throughout the Arizona Diamondbacks 7 to 1 victory over the visiting Detroit Tigers. Godley was divine throughout the contest and surrendered one earned run on four hits and struck out six in seven innings pitched
Godley struck out three of the first four batters he faced and at one point set down 11 consecutive Tigers for his first win of the season.
The Tigers Matthew Boyd was strong surrendering three earned runs on eight hits in six innings pitched.
Arizona's offense was paced by Nick Ahmed's second homerun of the season, A.J. Pollock's two RBI's and Yasmany Tomas' two run homer. Brandon Drury added a solo homerun after Tomas.
The win ended Arizona's three game losing streak but the Diamondbacks have still lost five of their last seven-games.
Arizona improved to 19-16 and the Tigers dropped to 16-16.
