Snake Bytes 5/10: Getting Ugly

The Diamondbacks’ woes continued as they dropped game one against Detroit Tuesday night.

Robbie Ray struck out eight in his five innnings of work, but he also walked five batters.Meanwhile, Justin Verlander, while not dominant, managed to limit the damage against him. After allowing three runs in the third inning, he retired 10 of ne next 11 batters. The Diamondbacks were also only 3-for13 batting with runners in scoring position and hitless in the last eight opportunities.

Paul Goldschmidt Makes Surprise Visit

Teachers and students received a surprise vist from Paul Goldschmidt on Tuesday in support of National Teachers Day. The Arizona first baseman was present to honour second grade teacher, LaToya Jones and to provide her with a donation of $1000 to help in the classroom.

Marte Making His Case

Reno Aces shortstop, Ketel Marte, is doing eerything he can to make his case for joining the big league club. The other part of the return from Seattle in the Walker deal, Marte leads the league in hits and batting average.

Diamondbacks Continue 5th Starter Auditioning

Zack Godley will get another shot to show what he brings to the discussion, while Braden Shipley and Archie Bradley still remain possibilities.
