Triple A Reno 3 @ Sacramento 4 (11). It was the Aces turn to blow a lead, being unable to hold on to a three-run advantage after three. The River Cats tied things up in the fourth off Braden Shipley, but those three runs were all he’d allow over seven innings, on three hits and a walk with six K’s. Neither team scored for the next six frames, until Sacramento walked off winners, courtesy of a two-out double off Enrique Burgos in the bottom of the 11th. 2B Ildemaro Vargas had a pair of doubles, RF Oswaldo Arcia hit his seventh homer, and LF Jeremy Hazelbaker (above) got on base four times, with two hits and two walks.

Double-A Jackson 0, Tennessee 8. The Generals were held to five hits, and this was all but over by the middle of the fourth, as the Smokies took a six-run lead off Alex Young. He worked five frames, allowing seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts, in taking his first loss of 2017. Gabe Speier tossed three scoreless innings of relief. On offense, CF Victor Reyes and 1B Kevin Cron each had a pair of hits, Cron getting Jackson’s only extra-base hit with a double. But they only had four at-bats with a runner in scoring position, and were hitless.

High-A Visalia 4 @ Inland Empire 0. Ryan Atkinson spun a gem, tossing six innings of one-hit ball, leading the Rawhide to a three hit blanking of the 66ers. Atkinson walked two, and struck out five. Cody Clark, Kirby Bellow and Mason McCullough each followed with scoreless relief innings. LF Grant Heyman got Visalia on the board with a two-run homer (#5) in the fifth; C Francis Christy had three hits, including a double, and it was enough, even though the Rawhide were also hitless with RISP, going 0-for-6.

A-ball Kane County 1, Great Lakes 4. Sam McWilliams pitched very well for the Cougars, holding the Loons to one run over six innings, on two hits and a walk with two strikeouts. The defense couldn’t hold down the fort thereafter, however, with errors by CF Anfernee Grier and SS Jasrado Chisholm leading to three unearned runs which proved the margin here. 2B Luis Alejandro Basabe had a double and a walk, and also stole a base.
