The Arizona Diamondbacks hot streak was cooled by the visiting San Diego Padres at Chase FIeld on Wednesday evening. Diamondbacks reliever Fernando Rodney blew a save opportunity by surrendering five runs in the top of the ninth as the Padres won 8-5.
Arizona's first baseman Paul Goldschmidt drove in three-runs and emergency starting pitcher Zack Godley was solid, surrendering two earned runs in five innings pitched. Godley was on the hill for the injured Shelby Miller.
Arizona has won five out of their last seven games. With the loss the Diamondbacks dropped to 15-9.
Goldschmidt has multiple RBI's in his last five games, a franchise record. America's First Baseman finished with three hits and three RBI's in the game.
The Diamondbacks' A.J. Pollock each had three hits and each scored two runs.
Arizona's Archie Bradley relieved Godley and struck out five in three innings of long relief.
