Nick Ahmed drove in all four Diamondbacks runs, including his first home run of the season. But it wasn't nearly enough for Arizona. Errors proved costly and Patrick Corbin was unable to repeat the success of his previous outings. He allowed two runs in the first, and although Ahmed's homer gave Arizona the lead, it proved short lived. Corbin ended up going six innings, and was charged with five runs on nine hits and three walks, while striking out three.
However, two of the runs were unearned, as the Diamondbacks added to their league leading error total. An Ahmed error helped the Dodgers tie the game in the fourth, and a throw down to third from Chris Herrmann hit the runner and allowed Los Angeles to take the lead. Any hopes of a comeback for Arizona were killed off when Fernando Rodney allowed a three-run homer to the Puig in the eighth.
