First, here’s A.J. Pollock discussing his return to Spring Training after an injury-plagued 2016 season with MLB Network’s Robert Flores: "[There’s] obviously a little more excitement, just to get back into the flow of baseball. When [Spring Training] rolled around this year, I was ready to go and super excited. In years past, you’re always excited, but I think there’s just a little extra this year because I haven’t played in so long.” I know I speak for all Diamondbacks fans, when I say we’re excited to have him back. A full season of peak Pollock would go a long way to making the 2017 season better than last one!
And here’s Paul Goldschmidt demonstrating his sweet, sweet footwork and fielding position, with MLB Network analyst and former first baseman Sean Casey, during yesterday’s 30 Clubs in 30 Days program which looked at the Diamondbacks. I’m always fascinated by this kind of thing, because it seems so smooth and natural when you see it during a game. But it’s actually a lot of moving parts that go together, and breaking it down like this gives me a much greater appreciation for the skills involved.
