Arizona Diamondbacks Spring Training Gameday Thread, #8: 3/3 vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

“Once the best of friends... Now, mortal enemies.” Am I overselling this Greinke vs. McCarthy match-up?

First televised game of the season as well, with Fox Sports Arizona bringing you this one. It’s also on the Fox Sports Go app. After Shelby Miller’s stellar outing last night, there will be a lot of interest to see what’s up with Greinke. He has been eased into spring, and this will be his first outing, making him the last of the Diamondbacks starting pitcher candidates to take the mound. Given the various ailments which plagued him in last season, this is likely understandable. But it’s also a little bit concerning, and we’ll be a good deal happier after we have seen him take the mound, throwing without any apparent difficulty.

He goes up against a former team-mate on the 2015 Dodgers (albeit only briefly, having made just four starts), who is also a former Diamondback, in Brandon McCarthy. I’ll defer to the latter’s wife with regard to this afternoon’s contest.
