Diamondbacks 5, Indians 6 - Ray gets razed

Spring Training! It’s almost over, don’t worry. Here’s a recap

MLB: Spring Training-Chicago Cubs at Colorado Rockies Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

bRobbie Ray shaved his beard, as one can do if they have a beard so I’m told, and it immediately paid dividends in the form of a leadoff walk to Austin Jackson and a home run by Michael Brantley. He then allowed a three-run jack to Chris Colabello. He allowed another run in the 3rd. He didn’t get a chance to do much more as he was ejected for arguing balls and strikes after his second at bat. Torey Lovullo became collateral damage in that argument as he was ejected by Bill Miller as well.

Yasmany Tomas got on base for once this Spring with a walk in the 2nd. Daniel Descalso drove him home with a double. He also had a double in the 3rd so he won’t go Spring Training hitless. He also had a Sac-Fly in the 5th to score the third run for the Diamondbacks.

David Peralta also had a solo homer off of Trevor Bauer. Brevor Trauer, more like.

Somebody going by the name of Rudy Flores had an RBI single in the 7th for the Diamondbacks to make the score 6-4.

A notable performance came from Archie Bradley, who pitched two scoreless innings in relief, which may be a sentence we type a lot this season.

Jeremy Hazelbaker? MOAR LIKE JEREMY HAZELRAKER as he had an RBI single in the 8th to bring the score to within one. However, the Diamondbacks did not accomplish much in the final frame and ended up losing by one.

Spring Training is almost over, and that’s good cause real baseball that counts is a worthwhile goal. Til next time!
