Arizona Diamondbacks Spring Training Gameday Thread, #29: 3/26 vs. Cleveland Indians

This one’s on TV and radio. I hope the commentators don’t “drone” on too much...

O HAI, Yasmany. Finally back in the line-up, his last spring contest having been against Team Mexico on March 8, since when an oblique strain has kept Tomas out of action. Not that he was doing much before the injury: including the Mexico games, Yasmany is a startlingly-bad 0-for-20 this preseason. Yeah, I know it’s spring and means nothing - he hit over .400 last spring, and that didn’t exactly carry forward into Tomas’s first-half either - but this is spectacular. I literally could have done as well. With Opening Day one week from today, he needs to find his hitting cleats, stat.

I should explain the sub-headline on this one. It’s because, taking the mound for the Indians will be a familiar face: renowned rapper, well-known UAV enthusiast and occasional starting pitcher, former Diamondback, Trevor Bauer. He’s had an okay spring: 4.58 ERA and a K:BB of 10:3 in 19.2 innings, but on the positive side, has at least managed to avoid wounding essential limbs in any drone-related accidents. So, unlike the 2016 ALCS, then.

This one will be available on both TV and radio, on Fox Sports Arizona and ESPN Phoenix 620 respectively.
