Patrick Corbin was the scheduled starter, but he’s being kept away from a divisional rival, so will make a minor-league start today instead. This likely also explains why there’s a DH in our line-up, even though it’s two National League teams playing each other. We’ll likely get three inning or so out of Chafin, then fill out the rest of the game as appropriate.

Two big names return to the line-up this afternoon though: Pollock is back from his groin issue, and Goldschmidt returns from his role in the World Baseball Classic on the bench for Team USA. But I’m sure Paul brought the same level of work ethic and dedication to riding the pine as he does to everything else. Damn you, Jim Leyland. I’m sure both men will be in the line-up virtually every day the rest of the way, so they can get as many at-bats as possible. No TV or radio for this one.
