Some bits and pieces of news on the injury front for the D-backs. A.J. Pollock was scheduled to play in an "in-camp" game today with D-backs Minor Leaguers. Jake Barrett (right shoulder), Rubby De La Rosa (right elbow) and Steve Hathaway (left shoulder) are all expected to throw their second bullpen tomorrow, with Silvino Bracho (right thigh) and Kevin Jepsen (left thigh) scheduled for a bullpen on Wednesday. Pollock is the one that most concerns me, I think. What was originally being written off by the player as “more of a cramp than anything,” seems to be lingering a lot longer than expected. And we’re already thin in the outfield.

Tonight, Walker will likely take over the lead as the spring training strikeout king this evening. His 21 currently trails the IndiansDanny Salazar by two, but Salazar has walked 11, compared to Walker’s 1. Both figures are pretty impressive, considering Walker has thrown 13 innings. Of the 43 pitchers with that many innings in spring, only four have as few walks, and the best K:BB is the TigersMatt Boyd, who sits at 16:0. The D-backs team ratio, of 197:60, continues to be the best in the majors this pre-season too. Hopefully, that will carry forward to the regular campaign.
