Plenty to keep an eye on this afternoon, with the Diamondbacks pulling double duty. One roster move made this morning: Silvino Bracho has been optioned to AAA Reno. Not worth a separate post, but I did update our roster watch spreadsheet to reflect the news. One less candidate for the bullpen...
Bradley really needs to step his game up if he’s going to win the fifth starter’s spot. Torey Lovullo made all the right noises after the last outing, saying “We didn’t evaluate the runs that he gave up or the unearned runs or really even the play that he didn’t make that led to a couple extra pitches.” But 18 hits over 9.2 innings and a resulting ERA over 11, isn’t going to convince anyone. There’ll likely be only three more starts at most, so he needs to begin demonstrating why he deserves the job, not why he doesn’t.
