Descalso returns from his stint at the World Baseball Classic, just in time for his spot in the Diamondbacks Opening Day Countdown, which will be appearing tonight. No A.J. Pollock or Yasmany Tomas, so a bit of a different look to the outfield again today, with Blanco and Herrmann replacing them. Blanco’s roster chances appear to have received a significant boost, since I’m guessing Tomas probably won’t be ready for Opening Day. Pollock’s continued absence is a bit odd, given this was supposedly just “cramp”. He hasn’t appeared in a Cactus League game since leaving that one on Sunday. Hope it doesn’t end up being, like Tomas, something more serious.
