Getting this one up a little early, as an impromptu Gameday Thread for the World Baseball Classic game which starts at 6pm. That sees Team USA get their second round action under way, going up against Venezuela. Paul Goldschmidt will be DHing for America, with Eric Hosmer playing first. This doesn’t make much sense, but I guess it removes the chance of Goldie being run over by Miguel Cabrera at first-base or whatever, so I’m fine with it. Not being American ‘n’ stuff.
Meanwhile, there will be a large and enthusiastic crowd at Sloan Park for tonight’s game - last time I checked lawn seats were going on Stubhub for $49. Which is borderline insane, considering this is spring training. From our end, we’ll see if Walker can continue a brilliant start to his Diamondbacks’ career, not having allowed a run over his first three appearances and nine innings.
No TV for this one, radio apparently available through MLB.com. Recap might be a bit late, depending on what I’m watching at home tonight. :)
