Bit of a different look to the line-up this afternoon from yesterday, shall we say. While Saturday looked not too dissimilar to a possible Opening Day line-up, Sunday seems the majority of starters probably people who will not be troubling the roster by then. Our two Chris’s (Chrises? Chrisii?) Owings and Iannetta should do, along with Descalso; beyond that, Blanco or Hazelbaker might have a chance? That’s about it. Maybe the team should offer variable pricing for spring games, based on the line-up. If so, they’d probably need to give a refund at the gates this afternoon.

Shipley is fringey, but I suspect it would take some health problems for him to make the roster. Though the odds are there probably will be one or two of those over the course of the preseason, simply because you’ve got N guys playing baseball for five weeks. Even if they’re going at less than 100%, there is still a good chance that something bad will happen during these “meaningless” games. About all you can hope for is that it won’t be serious, and it won’t happen to one of the players on your roster who is more difficult to replace.

This one is on the radio, but I believe it’s on 620 AM, if you’re using one of those old-fashioned devices with a dial on it. :)
