After six months of prompts, rec’ing, and me forgetting to post the article, the votes are counted, and we officially have a Pit Your Wits ‘17 Champion! After not being much of a factor in the first half of the season, he made it his public mission to win the second half. Keegan Thompson!!!!!!!!

It was a hard fought battle between him and Rattler, but in the end, Keegan emerged victorious. It was by no means a landslide, however, with Keegan only claiming victory by two votes. Both of them were very deserving, being hilarious all season long and being such good sports about the whole thing. So give a big virtual round of applause to both of them and #SlapHands with Keegan to celebrate his victory!

I’m just going to conclude here with some thoughts on this year and some thank yous. There were a lot of highlights this season, both on and off the field. I mean, there’s going to be an NLDS game at Chase Field tomorrow night, for crying out loud. It’s been a pretty great season, and a lot of it has to do with the people involved.

The first thank you, of course, goes to Jim. This is his sandbox, and he doesn’t have to let any of us play in it, but he does anyway. Not only does he let me screw around here, he’s let me carve my own unique niche here with PYWs and of course Fang Food. I know I’m hardly the best writer on here, I rarely right about any sort of actual analysis of the team, and, heck, on any given week there’s a 50/50 chance that I won’t even remember to write something, but he puts up with it anyway. Thanks Jim. I really don’t know what would happen to this site if you ever decided it was time to move on.

Thanks to the Diamondbacks for making this the hardest season of Pit Your Wits yet, since I couldn’t just sit back and make fun of how bad they were for every prompt making this season so enjoyable. Win or lose tomorrow, it’s been a blast.

Most of all, thanks to all of you guys for playing along this season. With out you guys, none of this would work. I’d just be some crazy person on a virtual street corner who was convinced he was a game show host. Thanks so much for playing, and I’ll sign out with one final prompt...
