Playoff Gameday Thread #13: A Hill to climb for the Cubs

Chicago lost the first game, despite hitting another home-run off Kershaw.

4:38 pm: Chicago Cubs @ Los Angeles Dodgers (Dodgers 1-0)

Jon Lester (LHP, 13-8, 4.33) vs, Rich Hill (LHP, 12-8, 3.32). And it was going so well, too... A two-run homer in the fourth gave the Cubs the league, and helped deny Clayton Kershaw victory. But the Dodgers scored five unanswered runs to take the opener. And, what are the odds, a controversial call at the plate went in their favor. Today, it’s a battle of left-handers, as Chicago tries to inflict the first post-season defeat on Los Angeles. Lester’s last start against the Dodgers lasted only 3.1 innings, as he allowed six earned runs on seven hits and two walks on May 28. Hill has only faced the Cubs once, back in last season’s NLCS when he got the W for six innings of two-run ball.
