Arizona Diamondbacks 1, Los Angeles Dodgers 3

And, so, it ends....

The 2017 Arizona Diamondbacks season came to and end tonight at Chase Field. The offense was stifled through five innings by Yu Darvish, who allowed only a Ketel Marte bunt single and a Daniel Descalso homer in the fifth. Meanwhile, Zack Greinke worked in, and mostly out of trouble. But solo home-runs in the fifth and sixth hurt. He allowed three runs over five innings. His usually immaculate control was less than that tonight, as Zack walked five. Greinke allowed four hits and struck out four.

That wasn't really the problem tonight. The Diamondbacks didn't have to worry much about getting hits with runners in scoring position. I don't think they had an at-bat with RISP until two outs in the ninth, and few even with a man on first. Christian Walker was plunked (perhaps twice) to lead off the sixth, but David Peralta hit into a double-play. Archie Bradley worked 2.2 scoreless innings, and Andrew Chafin got the last out, with a runner thrown out at home by Peralta.

Keegan will be along with the full recap in a bit, after he gets back from the park.
