In his post-game press conference, Chip Hale announced that the team will option Evan Marshall to AAA Reno to make room for Zack Greinke. Greinke had been on the disabled list for a strained oblique muscle after leaving his start on June 28th. The move affects both the rotation and the bullpen, as Zack Godley will move back into the bullpen for the time being, especially considering what we've seen from top pitching prospect Braden Shipley. Godley fits more as a reliever long term than the others in the rotation.

Greinke had been pitching well for the team and the team winning his last 8 starts before the injury. Greinke will start Tuesday against the Mets to start a 3-game series following an off day tomorrow. The move also means that Shipley will start the series-ending game on Thursday.
