Mitch Haniger was called up by the Diamondbacks today, with Socrates Brito being sent to Reno in the corresponding move. Haniger will fill the 40-man spot vacated by Adam Lowen, who was designated for assignemt yesterday.
Haniger has been with Mobile and Reno this season. He put up a slash of .294/.407/.462 with 5 homers in Double-A and .351/.437/.697 and 19 dingers in Triple-A (Wow, a sudden surge in hitting once a player gets to Reno, that never happens)
Haniger, along with Anthony Banda, was acquired from Milwaukee in 2014 in the trade that sent Gerardo Parra to the Brewers. He is in the lineup tonight against the Mets, batting 7th.
