Triple-A Reno 3, Salt Lake 4. A three-run fifth off Shelby Miller proved decisive as the Aces couldn’t hold on, after scoring a pair in the first. Miller had allowed an unearned run in the third, and went six innings, giving up three earned runs on eight hits and a walk, with eight strikeouts. 2B Ildemaro Vargas and 3B Carlos Rivero both got two hits, Vargas scoring two. RF Mitch Haniger tripled and walked, but also committed an error and was caught stealing.

Double-A Mobile vs. Mississippi - canceled, wet grounds

High-A Visalia 6, Bakersfield 0. Justin Donatella and four relievers combined on a six-hit shutout of the Blaze. Donatella went five frames, allowing five hits with no walks and four strikeouts. The Visalia bullpen pitched four innings of one-hit ball, ending with Bud Jeter fanning three of the four batters faced. DH A.J. Pollock finished a triple short of the cycle, walked, and drove in a pair. RF Victor Reyes also had a pair of hits.

A-ball Kane County 6 @ Wisconsin 7. An ugly ninth inning saw the Cougars blow a four-run lead, Cody Clark and Hector Hernandez retiring one of eight hitters faced, as they allowed five runs and a walk-off loss. That undid a solid outing from Emilio Vargas, who pitched six frames of two-run ball, on three hits, two walks and seven strikeouts. Keegan Long then tossed two scoreless relief innings before the meltdown. 1B Trevor Mitsui and C Francis Christy each got three hits and two runs. Mitsui and CF Marcus Wilson homered.

A-short Hillsboro 2 @ Boise 5. After falling 1-0 down in the first, the Hops scored two in the top of the second, on a pair of sacrifice flies. But Bo Takahashi allowed two in the bottom half and Hillsboro never scored again. Takahashi went 6.1 innings, and was charged with five runs on six hits and four walks with six strikeouts. On offense, C Luke Lowery and DH Justin Chigbogu each doubled, singled and scored a run, Lowery also stealing a base.

Rookie Missoula 2 @ Orem 4. The Osprey rallied from two down after six, to tie it in the middle of the eighth, but Luis Castillo allowed two in his second inning of relief to take the loss. Alex Gouin scattered eight hits and a walk over six innings, giving up two runs and striking out a pair. DH Kyle Smith tripled and singled, and C Ryan January hit his 8th home-run.
