Tonight marked the return of Zack "The Other Zack" Godley, taking Greinke's spot in the rotation. It could have definitely gone better, but it could have gone worse too. He gave up two runs in both the third and fifth innings, letting the Padres stay in the game perhaps longer than they should have. He gave up eight hits and three walks, two of them to lead off innings. Again, hardly ideal but the offense made it stand up and get him the win
The offense, and specifically the top four of the lineup, were the real stars tonight. Segura, Bourn, Goldy, and Weeks combined to go 8-for-14 with seven RBI. That's the kind of production always want out of the top of the lineup, and Arizona rode it to a win tonight.
The bullpen came in and kept the Padres in check, despite Zeigler giving up a solo shot, and then letting the tying run get on base. He pulled it together though and secured the win. Full breakdown to follow soon
