And so, the latest rumblings of managerial deckchairs being re-arranged hover over this road-trip, after the team failed to win yet another home-stand. It's truly odd how the team has played decent enough on the road, but is utterly unable to win a game at Chase Field. As Clefo retweeted earlier this week:
The Diamondbacks have a .327 W-L% at home and a .535 W-L% on the road. That is the worst gap between home v. road W-L% in MLB history.

Uh... Well done? Anyway, as Steve Gilbert noted, Tony La Russa is in Cooperstown for the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies this weekend, so it seems unlikely there will be a Chase Field re-enactment of The Purge in the immediate future. Changing skippers in the middle of a road-trip seems unlikely too, so we'll see how this one goes. With a couple of opponents in the first two cities, who are also struggling for wins, it's not impossible the team does well, and that could then lead to Hale receiving a further stay of execution. Probably needs to go at least 5-5, I would say, if things haven't already been decided.
I believe that Jody Jackson will be talking to Hale at the beginning of this afternoon's pre-game show from Great America Ball Park in Cincinnati, so be curious to see if that topic comes up. I suspect we may well hear the expected comments about "not listening to speculation" and "just getting on with the job." Can't be easy for anyone: I've been in positions where uncertainty has hovered overhead and it's never fun.
