Last night the Diamondbacks placed Rickie Weeks Jr. on the bereavement list. The corresponding move is recalling C Tuffy Gosewisch. This move impacts not just 1 position, but potentially 3 since the normal backup Chris Herrmann is also athletic enough to play the outfield. While Weeks is out of action, the Diamondbacks could use Herrmann everyday as an outfielder to give him ABs because he's deserving of a more extended look. The current roster makeup has 3 catchers on the 25-man roster even though it would have made more sense to bring up an OF. We'll find out later today if Zack Greinke needs to spend a few weeks on the DL for rest reasons with a tweaked oblique from his last start.
