Kane County's Alex Young impressed again with 7 shutout innings in their 2-0 win last night. Young lost some development time when he missed 5 weeks earlier this year but he's looked very good in 2 of his last 3 starts. The second round pick from 2015 might be bucking for a promotion soon if he puts up a couple more starts like that one.

AAA: Reno 15 El Paso 12: The Aces scored 8 runs in the first 2 innings then had to come from behind to win the game. Edwin Escobar couldn't take advantage of the early offensive outburst when he combined with Matt Buschmann to allow 6 runs in the 4th inning. Buschmann gave up 2 more in the 5th and it took 7 more runs by the offense in the 5th and 6th to secure the win. Lots of offensive support in this one with Ed Lucas going 3 for 3 with 2 walks and 3 runs scored. Todd Glaesmann had 3 hits including 2 doubles, an RBI and 3 runs scored. Jack Reinheimer went 3 for 5 and Kyle Jensen hit a 2-run homer.
AA: Mobile - Off day
A+: Visalia 1 Rancho Cucamonga 3. Starter Joel Payamps was okay getting through 6 innings allowing 3 runs on 8 hits without a walk while striking out 7. There wasn't much offense in support of that effort and it spelled defeat. Seven hits, all but one singles, was all that was had. Dawel Lugo went 2 for 4 and Marty Herum drove in the lone run.
A: Kane County 2 Burlington 0. Alex Young was very sharp tossing 7 shutout innings on 4 hits and a walk while striking out 6. The offense was fairly meager but it was enough as Zach Nehrir and Austin Byler each drove in a run. Julio Perez pitched the 9th for his first save.
A-: Hillsboro 6 Salem-Keizer 0. Tyler Mark had his best outing of the year throwing 7 shutout innings on 3 hits with a walk and a whopping 10 strikeouts. The offense finally got in gear in support of Mark with 2 runs each in the 5th, 6th and 7th innings. Matt Railey drove in 2 runs on 2 hits and 1st round pick Anfernee Grier had 2 hits and a walk. Grier is 5 for 13 in his last 3 games after starting his career 0 for 12.
R: Missoula 2 @ Helena 4. A hard-fought close game that the Osprey lost in a late bullpen battle. Bryant Holtmann was okay allowing 2 runs over 5 innings. Gabe Gonzalez surrendered 2 solo homers over the next 2 innings and that was the difference. Eudy Ramos led the offense going 3 for 4 with a double and a solo home run, his 3rd. Ramon Hernandez added a pair of singles.
AZL: Dbacks 1 Athletics 12. Max Duval started and kept the team in the game giving up 2 runs (one earned) across 5 innings with 7 strikeouts. The bullpen however was horrid allowing 8 runs in the 6th through 8th innings. The offense managed just 5 hits with Joey Rose and Kyle Smith picking up doubles.
