RHP Zack Godley was optioned to Reno after last night's game. Bracho, 23, has appeared in 6 games in 3 stints with the D-backs, posting a 7.50 ERA (6 R-5 ER in 6.0 IP). In 25 games for Aces, 0-1, 15 saves, 3.12 ERA (9 ER in 26.0 IP). Godley, 26, is 1-0 with a 4.35 ERA (5 ER in 10.1 IP) and .200 opponents average (8-for-40) with 4 walks and 8 strikeouts in 5 games (1 starts) for the D-backs this season.
After a couple of weeks where the bullpen seemed relatively settled, the heavy workload of last night's contest, in which everyone was used, along with the far from inconceivable possibility of a short start tonight by Shelby Miller, has forced the Diamondbacks to return to relief churn. Seems almost certain we'll see Bracho at some point in this afternoon's proceedings. His stats haven't been great at the major-league level this year, particularly his K:BB ratio of 3:5. Better than that will certainly be needed.
