Diamondbacks recall Socrates Brito, place David Peralta on disabled list

The Arizona Diamondbacks reinstated RHP Shelby Miller from the 15-day disabled list (right index finger sprain), recalled OF Sócrates Brito from Triple-A Reno and placed OF David Peralta on the 15-day disabled list (retro to June 15; low back sprain), as announced by D-backs Sr. Vice President & General Manager Dave Stewart.

Miller, 25, was placed on the disabled list on May 27 (retro to May 25). In 2 rehab starts at Single-A Advanced Visalia, he went 2-0 with a 0.75 ERA (3 R-1 ER in 12.0 IP), .178 opp. average (8-for-45), 1 walk and 19 strikeouts. In 10 starts for the D-backs, he is 1-6 with 7.09 ERA (36 ER in 45.2 IP).

Brito, 23, is getting his second stint with the D-backs. He made the Opening Day roster for the first time in his career and in 10 games from April 4-17, he hit .226 (7-for-31) with 1 triple, 1 homer and 2 RBI. In 52 games for the Aces, he hit .289 (63-for-218) with 8 doubles, 6 triples, 5 homers, 30 RBI and 7 walks.

Peralta, 28, has played in 41 games for the D-backs and hit .259 (38-for-147) with 7 doubles, 4 triples, 4 homers and 15 RBI. This is his second stint on the disabled list (also: May 15-June 6 with right wrist inflammation).
