Drury went 2-for-4 and scored two runs in today’s game, but it wasn’t enough to save his spot on the roster, as the Diamondbacks announced after the game.
#Dbacks option INF/OF Brandon Drury to the Triple-A Reno @Aces following today's game. A corresponding move will be made tomorrow.

Kind of too bad for Drury, who had gone through a rough patch, but stuck it out and was maybe starting to adjust. There’s a chance, though, that he doesn’t actually go to Reno; David Peralta is still struggling with a stiff back, and it may require a DL stint. If that happens, Drury might be right back with the Diamondbacks, or the club might opt for Socrates Brito, who has started to hit again after a rough time when he was first sent back to Reno, posting a .335 average since May 5th.
Either way, Drury’s numbers, with an OPS of .760, might have dropped after a good start, but he did very well considering that he was moved around positions regularly.
