Socrates Brito drove in 6 runs in Reno's big win on 3 hits including a bases-loaded triple. It was just one of a number of big performances for Dbacks farmhands including Mike Freeman posting 5 hits; Edwin Escobar pitching 6 strong, Jamie Westbrook going 4 for 5 with a pair doubles; Jimmie Sherfy lowering his ERA to 0.57; Cody Reed going 8 innings in relief; Chuck Taylor going 4 for 5 and filling the stat sheet; and Carlos Hernandez striking out 8. There won't be enough Snake Stars to go around so some of you are going to have to go without. All four affiliates also won.

AAA: Reno 14 @ Las Vegas 7.The Aces blasted Las Vegas with a 7-run 3rd inning serving as the big blow and they cruised from there. Edwin Escobar clearly enjoyed the big lead allowing one run on 3 hits over 6 innings for the easy win. Socrates Brito and Mike Freeman were the offensive heroes with Brito driving in 6 and Freeman getting 5 hits and scoring 3 runs. Kyle Jensen added a double and a his 11th home run while driving in 3. Jensen has 5 home runs in his last 7 games. Mitch Haniger hit his 2nd home run since joining Reno last Friday.

AA: Mobile 8 Jacksonville 7.The BayBears won a wild back-and-forth affair when Ildemaro Vargas singled home Michael Perez in the bottom of the 10th for a walk-off win. Matt Koch and Myles Smith each gave up 3 runs over the first 5 innings as culprits in the see-saw battle. Mobile took the lead on a Travis Denker 2-run homer in the 7th and Joey Krehbiel subsequently gave it back in the 8th before Vargas delivered the game winner in the 10th. Jimmie Sherfy settled things down pitching-wise with shutout innings in the 9th and 10th to earn the win while lowering his ERA to a miniscule 0.57. Jamie Westbrook had a big day with 4 hits including 2 doubles, 2 runs and an RBI.

A+: Visalia 11 @ Bakersfield 6.This was a wild one as Cody Reed had to enter the game as a reliever when starter Ethan Elias was ejected after hitting Austin Wilson with a pitch. Reed was spectacular following up that first inning with 6 shutout innings and was coasting with a 6-2 lead before giving up 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th to see the game tied. He went on to pitch the 9th as well and earned the win when the offense exploded for 5 runs in the top of the 10th. Reed's final line was a little ugly allowing those 4 runs on 8 hits and 6 walks though he did strike out 9. The Rawhide piled up 17 hits as Chuck Taylor racked up 4 of those. Victor Reyes delivered one of the big blows, a 3-run homer in the 10th that cemented the win. Henry Castillo had 3 hits with a double and scored 3 runs.

A: Kane County 2 @ Beloit 1. Carlos Hernandez was a little wild but effective in allowing just one run over 6 2/3 innings on 5 hits and 5 walks with 8 strikeouts. He left the game with a 1-0 deficit but the offense bailed him out with 2 runs in the 8th via a 2-out, 2-run double by Trevor Mitsui. Cody Clark pitched 2 shutout innings to get the win and Kirby Bellow got the final out for his 1st save. Mitsui also walked twice and Fernery Ozuna went 2 for 4 with a double.
