What a wet fart of an ending for an awful 3 game sweep at the hands of the Marlins.
6 straight losses. It's hard to find the silver lining with all that losing, and although I'm not saying it's time to give up, it's certainly getting to be a drag.
Robbie Ray didn't have too bad of a game, though it was shortened with an elevated pitch count after 5.1 innings. He struck out 5 and gave up 6 hits, while also allowing 2 runs to score.
The Marlins scored their first run in the 3rd inning. Giancarlo Stanton walked to lead off the inning, and was brought home with a sacrifice fly and a Derek Dietrich single. Miami would slowly grow their lead from there, getting another run in the 4th and 2 in the 8th.
The Diamondbacks just simply had no response, even after Miami's starter, Adam Conley, also left the game after only 5.1 innings. The team only managed 3 hits for the game and a walk for the game, spending a lot of at-bats looking listless. Look, I want to get to a Cinco de Mayo party, too, but I at least tried hard to pretend I was working today.
What, though, is there really to say about a shitty game like this? The D-backs are scuffling, and need to figure it out fast. The season certainly isn't over after being 6 games under .500 at the beginning of May, but they haven't given me any reason to hope yet, either.

Tomorrow the Diamondbacks continue their tour of pain by heading to Atlanta for a 3 game set against the Braves. Let's see if they can manage to win a game!
