Bourn Helps D-backs Build Big Lead [video]
Bourn picked up three hits and should probably be added to the list of good acquisitions, alongside Jean Segura, Chris Herrmann, and Welington Castillo. More on him below, as well.

La Russa's Argument Epitomizes His Style, Both Good and Bad
Some good points here on La Russa, and how he shouldn't have been barging into the Pirates' broadcast booth. However, it's patently ridiculous that a large part of the article criticizes the Diamondbacks for their retaliation on the Pirates in the Goldschmidt incident. Particularly of note is failure to mention that the Pirates have "a history" with multiple teams, including, at least, the Reds and Cardinals in addition to the Diamondbacks. They are kind of like the girl who always complains about everyone's drama; you know who's really causing it. Also, this appears the same day the Mets threw at Utley. I'm guessing we'll be waiting a while for someone at TKB criticizing the Mets for throwing at Utley, though.

Ejected Syndergaard: Utley Pitch Just Got Away
Well of course that's what he said. He has to. For once, though, I'd like to see someone say "yes, I threw it at him. It was at the belt. Wouldn't hurt him long term, just to make him think twice before breaking someone's leg again." Of course, that would result in a big suspension. But if you really believe you are right, why not challenge the league on it?
Salvador Perez Hurt in Collision
The Royals seem to be having their share of bad luck this year. Perhaps they need to work on calling and listening?

Pomeranz, Bradley Square Off in Rubber Game
Bradley will be facing the Padres for the first time in his career.
Assuming the Diamondbacks plan on keeping Bradley in the rotation, someone from the bullpen will be optioned after the game to make space for Edwin Escobar to make his Diamondbacks debut. Who might it be?
I tend towards thinking it will be someone who has been up for a while, and not another of the recent arrivals (Bracho and Collmenter are the only one's left after Leone was optioned yesterday.) Collmenter would also need to approve being optioned due to his service time, and he's probably not likely to do so after just one appearance. But there just aren't too many options. There's also an outside chance a position player is optioned, as well. We could also see someone, most likely Rickie Weeks, Jr., DFA'd.
