The Diamondbacks called up Archie Bradley last night in order to make a spot start today against the Rockies to try to help out a tired starting rotation. Pitching on 5 days rest, Bradley lasted 6 innings for the Diamondbacks tonight and picked up his first win on the season. Now that his services are no longer necessary, the Diamondbacks have sent him down to make a move to bolster the bullpen.
Thanks to Bradley's gutsy outing, the Dbacks top two relievers are rested for tomorrow's game and will have another arm to work with in the bullpen for the final two games of the Rockies series and a 7-game home-stand at Chase Field against the San Francisco Giants and New York Yankees. Marshall is 0-1 with a 3.00 ERA in 5 outings for the Diamondbacks this season.
