Sunday Sporcle: Arizona Diamondbacks Opening Day Lineups

Tomorrow will see the 19th Opening Day in Diamondbacks history. But how many of the players to have appeared in the previous 18 can you remember?

18 seasons, nine players per game, that's 162 total slots to fill. However, it helps that 35 players have appeared more than once, so you only actually have to find 72 names. The reigning champion is Luis Gonzalez, who appeared eight times, from 1999 through 2006. Of current players, the leader is Paul Goldschmidt who - and I trust this doesn't count as a spoiler for anyone! - will be making his fifth consecutive Opening Day appearance tomorrow. A.J. Pollock (3) and Chris Owings (2) are the sole current Diamondbacks to have more than one Opening Day start at this point. Indeed, Tuffy Gosewisch, Josh Collmenter and Nick Ahmed are the only contemporary players who even have one.

See how kind I am? Consider those seven names a start, my gift to you, and you're already almost 10 percent of the way to having this one completed! Though even I have to admit, there are names further down the list which will likely prove elusive to even the most hardcore of D-back supporters...
